"When I"m sailing I go into a different world ... it's like flying!"

STOP PRESS! An interview with Hilary Lister will be held at the Sky Sports Theatre at the Collins Stewart London Boatshow on Sunday 7th January 2007 from 1245-1330. Come along and hear Hilary talking about her Round Britain Dream.

Hilary Lister, a 34 year old quadriplegic from Kent, only able to move her head, sailed into the record books on 23rd August 2005 when she sailed solo across the English Channel by using a ‘sip and puff’ system of straws to control the sails and tiller.

Now Hilary has a new dream - to sail around the British Isles. Hilary and her team are now making plans to attempt this in the summer of 2007. This will involve venturing both into the North Sea and the Irish Sea. Her plan is to sail around the coast, from port to port.

Often, it is not an easy task fulfilling dreams. Some dreams, like Hilary’s, cost a lot of money and require support from numerous people. Hilary has been lucky to have Pindar, who came onboard in the early stages to support her and ensure she achieved her dream of sailing across the English Channel.

Westbere Sailing Opportunities and the UKSA also give Hilary an incredible amount of support assisting Hilary on the water. Now, Artemis has joined the list of sponsors and supporters by financing a new Artemis 20' boat, which will be specifically adapted for Hilary.

However, there is still plenty more money we need to raise and lots more product we're on the lookout for.
